Syrian protesters march through Deraa, carrying one of their fallen. A local rights group reported security forces shot dead at least 20 people during anti-government protests Friday. In Damascus, demonstrators chanted "Welcome Ramadan, Leave Bashar," referring to the Muslim holy month. Meanwhile, state news said saboteurs bombed an oil pipeline near Homs, causing an oil leak. President Bashar al-Assad has deployed the military to quell the mass protests that have been going on since March. Lindsey Parietti, Reuters
