July 13 - Blast victims are rushed to hospitals after serial blasts in Mumbai that killed at least 13 people. Deborah Lutterbeck reports.
The injured are rushed to the hospital in Mumbai after serial blasts hit India's financial capitol killing at least 13 people. So far authorities say 100 people were wounded in the attacks but that number is expected to rise. All major cities across the country have been put on high alert. Three explosions rocked crowded districts of India's financial capital of Mumbai during rush hour, in the biggest attack on the city since 2008 assaults blamed on Pakistan-based militants. The blasts came just two days after the city observed the fifth anniversary of the commuter train blasts that killed nearly 200 people. The White House said that U.S. President Barack Obama strongly condemned the attacks and offered US assistance to help bring those responsible to justice. Deborah Lutterbeck, Reuters.
