MADRID (Reuters) - Miriam Gonzalez, the City lawyer who is married to deputy prime minister Nick Clegg, has joined the board of Spanish infrastructure group Acciona (ANA.MC), her first executive board post.
Gonzalez, also the daughter of a Spanish senator, will be an independent advisor, Acciona said on Tuesday.
Acciona has been moving its focus from roads and construction to investment in renewable energy.
On Tuesday it opened a desalination plant on the Thames estuary to convert river water into drinking water for London.
Spanish speaking Clegg, the leader of the Liberal Democrats, which is the junior partner in the coalition, is due to visit Spain on Thursday.
