DUBLIN (Reuters) - The volume of Ireland's retail sales fell 0.6 percent in October versus September and was 7.3 percent lower than a year earlier, provisional data showed on Wednesday.
Final September data showed retail sales rose 0.6 percent in the month and were 6.2 percent down year-on-year. That compared with earlier provisional numbers showing a 0.5 percent rise month-on-month, with an annual fall of 6.2 percent.
Economists expect retail sales to fall 3.8 percent this year compared with a 6.4 percent rise in 2007, according to a median of 11 forecasts in a Reuters poll last month.
